College of Education produced fifty-seven (57) combined newly licensed professional teachers for Elementary and Secondary levels during the September 2024 Licensure Examination for Teachers

The Silliman University (SU) College of Education produced fifty-seven (57) combined newly licensed professional teachers for Elementary and Secondary levels during the September 2024 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).
According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT), 20,025 elementary teachers out of 44,002 examinees (45.51%) and 48,875 secondary teachers out of 85,926 examinees (56.88%) passed the examination.
Meanwhile, SU garnered an overall passing rate of 88.89%, with first-time takers at 93.33% for the Elementary Level and 85.42% overall passing rate, with first-time takers at 97.56% for the Secondary Level.
The examinations were held on September 29, 2024, while the results were released on December 11-13, 2024.

NOTE: The PRC reported a total of 57 passers from SU. After doing due diligence, the College of Education could only identify 51 passers with the remaining 6 passers being:
a. non-education graduates of SU who took the certificate for professional teachers from another institution
b. education graduates of SU who took the board exam years after graduation
c. graduates who previously failed the board exam but passed after the n-number of takes.
