The Silliman University College of Business Administration – Accountancy Department is calling all interested first-year applicants to APPLY to its Bachelor of Science in Accountancy for SY 2024-2025!

A. Admission and Screening Procedure for INCOMING FRESHMEN STUDENTS (BS in ACCOUNTANCY)

ABM STRAND:

1. ABM Strand applicants must submit a certified true copy of their Senior High School report card or scanned Grade 11 and Grade 12 grades with 1 pc. 2 x 2 ID picture to the Accountancy Department’s e-mail address: [email protected]

The final grades in FABM 1, FABM 2, Mathematics, and English subjects must be at least 85%. All the other subjects in Grades 11 and 12 must have a final grade of 80% and above, with a general average of 80% and above.

2. Applicants must be in the ABM Track/Strand.
3. Along with the grade and track requirements, all qualified applicants are required to take two (2) tests:

a. An entrance exam to be scheduled after an initial evaluation of credentials.
b. A scholastic test at the Testing Center of the Office of Student Services (OSS), SUACONA Center. (applied and administered separately).

4. The entrance examination fee is ₱300.00 per applicant, to be paid at the Silliman University Business and Finance Office using this account: CBA Accy Entrance Fee, account # 660.0016. Upon payment, indicate the name and the course applied for. Email a copy of the Official Receipt to [email protected] for the scheduling of exam.
5. All entrance exams will be administered only as scheduled. 7. No special schedules will be given. Examinations for admission are only given prior to the start of the academic year.
6. Qualified applicants (passed the entrance examination and the scholastic test) will be notified through email for interview scheduling.
7. After the interview and upon the final evaluation of the Accy Admissions Committee, the applicant will receive an Acceptance Note which needs to be submitted to the Admissions Office together with the other requirements for final admission.

The last day for the granting of acceptance notes is on the first day of the enrollment for incoming freshmen.

9. Those who fail to pass the entrance examinations may continue to enroll in the BS in Accountancy Program but will have to take and pass ABM 4 and ABM 6, which are collegiate equivalents of FABM 1 and FABM 2. Passing grade is 2.0. After which, they can proceed to take Accountancy major subjects under the ABM strand curriculum. The two subjects will be taken in two separate semesters which will bring the total number of years in college to five (5) years.

NON-ABM STRAND:

1. Non-ABM strand applicants must submit a certified true copy of their Senior High School report card or scanned Grade 11 and Grade 12 grades with 1 pc. 2 x 2 ID picture to the Accountancy Department’s e-mail address: [email protected].
2. The final grades in Mathematics and English subjects (Grades 11 and 12) must be at least 85%. All the other subjects in Grades 11 and 12 must have a final grade of 80% and above, with a general average of 80% and above.

The curriculum for Non-ABM strand is five (5) years, with seven (7) augmentation/bridging subjects with a grade requirement of 2.0 for each subject. These augmentation/bridging subjects are non-credit subjects.

4. Along with the grade requirements, all qualified Non-ABM applicants are required to take a scholastic test at the Testing Center of the Office of Student Services (OSS), SUACONA Center (applied and administered separately).
5. The qualified applicant (passed the scholastic test) will receive an email from the Accy Admissions Committee for interview scheduling.
6. After the interview and upon the final evaluation of the Accy Admissions Committee, the qualified applicant will receive an Acceptance Note from the department and this note needs to be submitted to the ORA Admissions Office together with the other requirements for final admission.

B. Admission and Screening Procedure for SHIFTEES

1. Applicants must submit a SHIFTING FORM from the department or college where they had their previous course with 1 pc. 2 x 2 ID picture to the Department’s e-mail address: [email protected].
2. Grades of all the subjects shall be evaluated for possible credits, in accordance with the guidelines of the Accountancy Department. The passing grade is 2.0 or its equivalent.
3. Shifting to BS in Accountancy from another program within the college/CBA and from another program of other colleges within the university will be properly evaluated by the Accy Admissions Committee and by the Chairperson of the Accountancy Department.
4. For SHIFTEES FROM ANOTHER PROGRAM WITHIN the college (CBA), the following shall be followed:

a. All Business subjects must have a grade of at least 2.0.
b. Along with the grade requirements, shiftees are required to take two (2) tests:

-An entrance exam to be scheduled after an initial evaluation of credentials. Scroll down to see the exam schedules at the bottom of this webpage.
-A scholastic test at the Testing Center of the Office of Student Services (OSS), SUACONA Center. (applied and administered separately).

c. The entrance examination fee is ₱300.00 per applicant, to be paid at the Silliman University Business and Finance Office using this account: CBA Accy Entrance Fee, account # 660.0016. The curriculum for Non-ABM strand is five (5) years, with seven (7) augmentation/bridging subjects with a grade requirement of 2.0 for each subject. These augmentation/bridging subjects are non-credit subjects.

1. Transferee applicants must submit school credentials (transcript of records, curriculum, course syllabus) from the department, college, or university where they had their previous course, with 1 pc. 2 x 2 ID picture to the Department’s e-mail address: [email protected]
2. Grades of all the subjects taken shall be evaluated for possible credits, in accordance with the guidelines of the Accountancy Department. The passing grade is 2.0, or its equivalent.
3. Transferee applicants who are under ABM strand or non-ABM strand will be properly evaluated by the Accy Admissions Committee and by the Chairperson of the Accountancy Department.
4. For transferee applicants who were UNDER THE ABM STRAND, the following shall be followed:

a. All business subjects must have a grade of at least 2.0 or its equivalent.
b. Along with the grade requirements, transferee applicants are required to take two (2) tests:

-An entrance exam to be scheduled after an initial evaluation of credentials. Scroll down to see the exam schedules at the bottom of this webpage.
-A scholastic test at the Testing Center of the Office of Student Services (OSS), SUACONA Center. (applied and administered separately).
