The Silliman University College of Performing and Visual Arts (COPVA) – Music Department is now accepting applications for the following degrees for SY 2024-2025:
1. Bachelor of Music major in Piano
2. Bachelor of Music major in Voice
3. Bachelor of Music major in Choral Conducting
4. Bachelor of Music major in Composition
5. Bachelor of Music major in Music Education
6. Bachelor of Music major in Music Therapy
Qualified applicants may proceed with the enrollment procedures through the Silliman University Application Portal:

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
1. Complete the application form https://forms.gle/QcrfistfG5aF5u6E8 and attach a PDF file of your TOR/grade card from your previous school.
(NOTE: Please refer to the GENERAL requirements and the MAJOR program you want to pursue).
2. Face-to-face audition and interview will start on July 15, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM and 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Music Sala on the second floor of COPVA 1.
3. Take the Music Diagnostic Exam after the audition to qualify for the Regular status. It is a 47-item exam and candidates are required to acquire at least 30 correct answers.
4. Proceed with the University Enrollment Procedure through https://su.edu.ph/enrollment/.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
1. The applicant will play two piano pieces of his/her choice, at least one memorized and one with the score. Applied Piano Minor for credit must be on the level of John Thompson’s Grade 2 Book or its equivalent. (*)
2. Sight-read a piano piece on the level of John Thompson’s Grade 2 Book or its equivalent. (*)
3. Play scales and arpeggios on the piano.
(*)not applicable to Piano Majors
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS
A. PIANO
1. Play two (2) pieces of the applicant’s choice on the level of Bach’s Two or Three Part Invention; Haydn’s or Mozart’s Sonatas; Chopin’s Waltzes, Nocturnes, Preludes, or any of its equivalent.
2. Sight-read a piano piece from J. Thompson’s Grade 3 book.
B. VOICE and CHORAL CONDUCTING
1. Sing a song (applicant’s choice) that best demonstrates his/her vocal ability.
2. Sing a major and minor scale.
3. Conduct the National Anthem of the applicant’s birthplace (for CHORAL CONDUCTING only).
C. COMPOSITION
1. Present an original composition or arrangement.
2. Play a piece in any musical instrument (optional).
D. MUSIC EDUCATION
1. Sing a song of the applicant’s choice or play a piece in any musical instrument (optional).
E. MUSIC THERAPY
1. Undergo an entry interview (Pass or Fail).
2. Perform with an accompaniment of either guitar or piano with a song in English, Tagalog, or Bisaya.
COPVA ADMISSION STATUS
A REGULAR status in the freshman year would mean that the applicant has successfully complied with the standard passing of the Talent Audition, Music Diagnostic Exam, and Personality Test. Examinees who cannot meet the standard passing requirement, but are accepted by the Jury will be given the ON PROBATION status. He/She will have an entire semester to lift the status and will be subjected to another audition at the end of the semester.
