Dean Speaks at Agribusiness Techno-Trade Forum
College of Agriculture Dean Dr. Chona Fontelo-Javier, was invited as resource speaker during the Agribusiness Techno-Trade and Investment Forum and Fair organized by the Department of Science and Technology together with the Department of Agriculture – Negros Oriental held October 3 to 4 at St. Paul University.
Among the topics tackled during the forum were starting and growing agri-business enterprises, market opportunities, and financing programs.
Representatives from the Department of Agriculture, Development Bank of the Philippines, MetroBank and the Cooperative Bank of Negros Oriental were also invited as speakers during two-day the forum.
As part of their Agricultural Entrepreneurship exposure, fourth year students of the College of Agriculture joined the trade fair to exhibit and sell their agricultural products.
Silliman is one of few higher education institutions designated National College of Agriculture. It has advocated for sustainable farming and sound practices of rice, crop and animal production.
