Globe Telecom officials paid a courtesy visit to Silliman University (SU) President Dr. Betty Cernol McCann today, February 13, 2026, at the SU Boardroom Annex to discuss strengthening institutional partnership, particularly the proposed establishment of a campus cell site to enhance connectivity for both the university and surrounding community, support 5G-ready signal, and explore potential e-labs for classroom use.

During the meeting, ICT Division Chief Dr. Chuchi S. Montenegro presented an overview of SU’s previous consultations and initial discussions on setting up a cell tower on campus, including the challenges and stakeholder concerns encountered.

Meanwhile, McCann underscored that any physical developments within university premises must undergo review by the Board of Trustees and encouraged Globe to present a holistic proposal that highlights the broader benefits of the project, noting that improved connectivity would significantly advance SU’s thrust on digital transformation and AI integration.

Globe, which currently powers the campus Wi-Fi through the ICT Division, was represented by Chief Commercial Officer Darius Delgado, Vice President for Business Development and Sales Glenn Estella, Vice President for Consumer Mobile Business Eric Tanbauco, Vice President for External Affairs Patrick Gloria, Cluster Head for Visayas and Mindanao Wee Binuya, Network Head for Visayas Marlon Casio, Territory General Manager Jimbo Cordero, B2B Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) Mar Pedrajas, and CRM Mark Gamon.
