Philippe Bernard Obeso, a magna cum laude graduate of the Silliman University (SU) Institute of Clinical and Laboratory Sciences (ICLS), placed third in the research poster competition of the 16th Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) Week celebration.

Obeso made the poster based on a research paper he wrote with his group in the Medical Technology program, titled “Tuberculosis Program Indicators and Treatment Delay Before and During the COVID-19 Pandemic and Healthcare Workers’ Compliance to NTP Adaptive Plan in Talisay City, Cebu.”

The paper was a requirement in the research course of their program, with SU faculty member Jeanette Joy Bola as their group adviser.

Before winning the 16th PNHRS Week poster competition, Obeso’s poster ranked first place in the Central Visayas Health Research and Innovation Conference held in Siquijor and passed the national screening to compete during PNHRS Week.

Obeso finished his Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology degree from SU earlier this year.

This year’s PNHRS Week celebration was held last August 8 to 11 in Tacloban City. Representatives from different health research consortia in the country attended the event.

With the theme, “Sustainable Development: Resilience through Health Research,” the celebration highlighted the crucial role of health research and innovation in achieving sustainable goals in the post-pandemic era.

SU is a member of the Central Visayas Consortium for Health Research and Development (CVCHRD).
