Music program gets PAASCU accreditation
The Music Program of Silliman University College of Performing and Visual Arts (COPVA) is now accredited.
The Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) in a letter addressed to Dr. Betty Cernol-McCann, SU president, granted the initial accreditation to the Bachelor of Music program for three years, valid until May 2023.
Dr. Elizabeth Susan Vista-Suarez, COPVA dean, said: “As the dean of the College of Performing and Visual Arts, I am very proud that the PAASCU has granted to the Music Department accreditation for three years. This is a milestone for the Music Department because we were granted accreditation on our first application. I am very proud of the faculty and staff who have made this happen. To God be the glory.”
PAASCU is an accrediting body that grants recognition to an educational institution or program after meeting accepted standards of academic quality through evaluation.
