Nursing students win regional quiz bowl

Level IV students of the Silliman University College of Nursing (SUCN) Rodente Z. Adiong Jr., Princess Mae B. Cacas, and Jack Oliver M. Estoursy won the regional Battle of the Nightingales, an inter-school nursing quiz bowl.

Sponsored by Metro Pacific Health and organized by Ramiro Community Hospital, the competition was held August 18, 2023 at the Island City Mall in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

Dr. Theresa A. Guino-o, SUCN dean, served as the students’ coach.

“It was a very thrilling fight with three tie-breaking rounds with Cebu Normal University…We praise God for this victory and thank the Office of Student Services, Student Organization and Activities Division, SUCN, and Silliman University for their support and encouragement to the team,” said Guino-o.

The students brought home a trophy and a cash prize of P20,000.

They will compete in the national competition in October 2023.

Other contenders included Mater Dei College, University of Bohol, and Cebu City Medical Center College of Nursing/Cebu Technological University.
