Silliman University (SU) and Cebu Normal University (CNU) inked a five-year memorandum of agreement for academic cooperation promoting educational collaboration and cultural understanding, some of which include an exchange of students, scholars, professors, lecturers, and researchers; joint scientific research programs; sharing of best practices in innovative teaching methods and course design; among others.
Signed by Dr. Betty Cernol McCann, SU president, and Dr. Daniel A. Ariaso Sr., CESO II-CNU president, on February 26, 2025, the MoA aims to forge collaboration and cooperation based on friendship, reciprocity, equality, and mutual interest.
Led by Dr. Daniel A. Ariaso Sr., the CNU delegation included Dr. Genara B. Pacana, TechVoc Center director; Dr. Charess E. Goles, Assessment Center assistant manager; Mr. Johann N. Trocio,
Assessment Center, tech support staff; Mr. Marvin M. Tan, Assessment Center liaison officer; and Ms. Catherine L. Arriesgado, CNU President Private Secretary Office.
Meanwhile, Dr. Margaret Helen U. Alvarez, interim vice president for Academic Affairs and Research (VPAAR), welcomed the guests at the SU Boardroom Annex together with Blanchie M. Utzurrum, Technical Educational Vocational and Entrepreneurial Center (TEVEC) head, and Glynnis Jean C. Casiño, Strategic Partnership and Enterprise Development officer-in-charge.
