The Chief Strategic Partnerships and Enterprise Development Officer plays a pivotal role in advancing the university’s vision of being a Christian institution leading in total human development for the well-being of society and the environment.
Reporting directly to the Office of the University President, this position involves strategic leadership in fostering partnerships, collaborations, and entrepreneurial initiatives that align with Christian values and support the university’s mission of holistic human development and societal well-being.
A. Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in business administration, entrepreneurship, strategic management, or related field; Ph.D. or equivalent experience preferred.
2. Extensive experience in strategic partnerships, enterprise development, business development, or corporate relations within higher education, industry, or economic development sectors.
3. Strong networking, negotiation, and communication skills to build relationships, leverage opportunities, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
4. Knowledge of innovation ecosystems, technology transfer, intellectual property rights, and commercialization processes.
5. Commitment to integrating Christian values, ethical leadership, and social responsibility into partnership and enterprise development initiatives, advancing total human development and societal well-being.
B. Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Partnerships. Develop and cultivate strategic partnerships with industry leaders, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and community stakeholders to promote collaborative initiatives, research projects, and experiential learning opportunities for students and faculty.
2. Enterprise Development. Identify and pursue entrepreneurial opportunities, innovation hubs, incubators, and startup initiatives that align with the university’s strengths, resources, and strategic priorities, fostering economic development and job creation.
3. Corporate Relations. Build and maintain relationships with corporate partners, sponsors, donors, and philanthropic organizations to support fundraising efforts, scholarship programs, research grants, and capital projects that contribute to the university’s mission and vision.
4. Technology Transfer. Facilitate technology transfer, commercialization of research, intellectual property management, and licensing agreements to promote innovation, industry collaboration, and economic impact within the region and beyond.
5. Community Engagement. Engage with local communities, industry clusters, and economic development agencies to address societal needs, promote social entrepreneurship, and support community-based initiatives that align with Christian values and ethical principles.
6. Innovation Ecosystem. Create an innovation ecosystem within the university, including innovation centers, maker spaces, and entrepreneurship programs, to foster creativity, problem-solving skills, and entrepreneurial mindset among students, faculty, and staff.
7. Strategic Planning. Contribute to strategic planning initiatives by providing insights, data-driven recommendations, and market analysis related to partnership opportunities, enterprise development strategies, and revenue diversification efforts.
8. Ethical Leadership. Uphold Christian values of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in all partnership and enterprise development activities, promoting responsible business practices, social impact, and environmental sustainability.
