SU alumna among ASEAN youth volunteers for regional development program
Alumni Update April 28 – May 4, 2025
Silliman University alumna Keilah T. Gallo has been selected as one of the 100 youth volunteers for Cohort 5 of the eMpowering Youth Across ASEAN (EYAA) Programme, a prestigious initiative jointly organized by the Maybank Foundation and the ASEAN Foundation.
The program aims to empower young leaders and uplift communities across Southeast Asia through experiential learning and meaningful social volunteerism. It also fosters regional solidarity by promoting youth engagement and supporting the shared goal of building a more connected and resilient ASEAN community.
This year’s cohort brings together 100 youth participants from all ten ASEAN member states. As part of the program, Gallo and her fellow delegates will undergo online training, followed by an in-person orientation workshop from July 19–24, 2025, at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. From July 24 to August 6, participants will implement community-based projects in collaboration with civil society organizations in one of the following ASEAN countries: Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, or Vietnam.
Gallo earned her BS Foreign Affairs degree from Silliman University in 2024, graduating cum laude.
