SU and alumna ink MOA for Maningcao Scholarship Fund

Silliman University (SU) and Drs. Arthur and Hope Crisostomo, donors, inked a memorandum of agreement (MOA) establishing the Maningcao Scholarship Fund for incoming freshmen students from Barangay Maningcao in Sibulan, Negros Oriental.

Officially signed on May 9, 2025 at the SU Boardroom Annex, the scholarship is exclusively offered to incoming first-year college students from Brgy. Maningcao, Sibulan, belonging to the top 5 ranking of the Senior High School class or who have previously graduated in the top 5 but, due to financial reasons, were unable to go to college on time.

It covers tuition and miscellaneous university fees, books, uniforms (if needed), and dormitory board and lodging fees.

Crisostomo is a true red Sillimanian. She finished her Early Childhood in 1962, Elementary School in 1964, High School in 1968, and Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology in 1973.

Meanwhile, Rhodora Estelloso-Baol, the donor’s sister who signed as a witness, is as much a Sillimanian as her. She finished her Early Childhood in 1967, Elementary School in 1969, High School in 1973, and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1977.

Drs. Arthur and Hope Crisostomo, now retired, live in Brgy. Maningcao, Sibulan.

Present on behalf of SU were Dr. Margaret Helen U. Alvarez, interim vice president for Academic Affairs and Research (VPAAR); Dr. Edna Gladys T. Calingacion, Office of Student Services (OSS) dean; and Ruben N. Bokingo, Alumni and External Affairs Office director.
