SU expands network in Indonesia; inks MOU with 5 universities

Silliman University (SU) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with five universities in Indonesia, namely Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (Duta Wacana Christian University), Universitas Kristen Wira Wacana Sumba (Wira Wacana Christian University), Universitas Halmahera, Universitas Ottow Geissler Papua (Ottow Geissler University of Papua), and Universitas Kristen Petra (Petra Christian University).
Through Dr. Betty Cernol McCann, SU president, the University signed a MOU with Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana, Universitas Kristen Wira Wacana Sumba, Universitas Halmahera, and Universitas Ottow Geissler Papua during the closing ceremony of the training and professional development project titled, “Nurturing a Culture of Excellence in University Management through Leadership Development and Partnerships,” hosted by SU on October 13, 2023 at Silliman Hall.
Meanwhile, SU signed an MOU with Universitas Kristen Petra (Petra Christian University) during the 25th General Assembly and Management Conference of Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia (ACUCA), which President McCann attended on October 18-19, 2023 in Daejeon City, South Korea.
The signed MOUs formalized ties between SU and the Indonesia-based institutions, and serve as a foundation for initiatives on academic collaboration and exchange that will follow.
