SU Library officially reopens with a Thanksgiving Ceremony

Silliman University (SU) celebrated the reopening of the Robert B. and Metta J. Silliman University Library with a heartfelt Thanksgiving Ceremony on April 28, 2025.

Led by the SU Church Pastoral Team, the event gathered library staff, students, faculty, and the first visitors to the newly modernized space.

University Librarian Asst. Prof. Sarah Angiela Ragay expressed gratitude to the SU administration; the Uytengsu Foundation, Inc.; Dr. Mariano C. Lao; and the dedicated library team for making the transformation possible.

SU President Dr. Betty Cernol McCann described the occasion as a fulfillment of shared hopes and dreams, emphasizing the library’s vital role in instruction, research, and community service, all cradled by faith.

To celebrate the reopening, university units—including the College of Nursing, College of Engineering and Design, College of Business Administration, SU Technology Business Incubation, Global Studies Center, and the Camera Club—are hosting a two-week exhibit at the new library.
