SU receives new digital audio console from Yupangco Electronics Corporation

Silliman University (SU) received a brand-new Yamaha Digital Mixing Console M7CL-48ES from Yupangco Electronics Corporation during a formal turnover ceremony held June 17, 2025, at the Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium.

Joining the ceremony via Zoom, Yupangco Electronics Corporation President Jose Mari L. Yupangco expressed gratitude for the longstanding partnership between the company and SU. He noted that their collaboration over the years has supported the university’s efforts to integrate technology into instruction, thereby enriching the learning experience of students.

“We are committed to helping the university address all technical requirements, including system design, preventive maintenance, warranty assistance, technical training, servicing, financing, and even possible trading,” Yupangco said, reaffirming the company’s support.

Receiving the donation on behalf of SU, Dr. Margaret Helen U. Alvarez, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research and Officer-in-Charge President, expressed her appreciation for the gift. “We thank you for this donation to the Luce Auditorium and to Silliman University. It enables us to continue our mission of being a vital force in the cultural and artistic life of this region and of our country.”

The event also included a blessing of the equipment by Rev. Mark B. Augusto, followed by the ceremonial signing of the Deed of Donation. Signing on behalf of SU was Dr. Alvarez, with Kevin Niegas, Finance Officer of Yupangco Electronics Corporation, representing the donor.
