
SU TEVEC trainers join the 2nd Visayas TVET conference on competency-based learning
Trainers from the Silliman University Technical Educational Vocational and Entrepreneurial Center (SU TEVEC) participated in the 2nd Visayas TVET Conference and Capability-Building Program held on May 29-30, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center, SM City Bacolod.
The two-day event focused on developing competency-based learning materials, aiming to enhance the instructional skills and curriculum planning of TVET (Technical Vocational Education and Training) trainers and administrators. It served as a platform for learning-sharing and skills enrichment, targeting the improvement of TVET program quality across the Visayas.

Representing SU-TEVEC at the conference were Blanchie M. Utzurrum, SU TEVEC head, trainer, and assessor; Rosalie L. Rola, Missy J. Silva, Dorcas S. Panangganan, Roy Rainier A. Villacora, and John Albert B. Ungson—all serving as trainers. Rolando Ponce, the official driver, accompanied the group.
Through a series of modules and workshops, the event emphasized the importance of competency-based education in aligning training programs with current labor market demands.
