SUAAMMCI Induction of Officers and Alumni Fellowship

Alumni Update March 24 – 30, 2025

The Silliman University Alumni Association of Metro Manila Chapter, Inc. (SUIAAMMCI) recently held an alumni fellowship and induction of newly elected chapter officers, on March 22, 2025, at the McKinley Hill Village Clubhouse, in Taguig City.

Lt Gen Fernyl G Buca PAF and Outstanding Sillimanian Awardee 2024, was the event’s guest speaker and inducting officer.

Serving a two-year term for 2025-2027, the SUAAMMCI chapter officers include Connie Campoy-Mamaril, president; Vice Admiral Edmund C Tan PCG (Ret), vice president; Atty. Anne Claire Credo-Cabochan, secretary; Chona R. Sienes-Yap, treasurer; Diana Campoy-Factuar, auditor; and Rayna Lyn Demerre-Roxas, PRO. Members of the Board of Directors are Gandhi T. Bhagwani, ways & means; Dr. Alma Magsipoc-Bonifacio, events; Leo Fortugaleza, membership coordination; and Crescencio C. Bendijo, adviser.

Guest speaker Lt Gen Fernyl G. Buca’s message expressed his gratitude for instilling Silliman’s Via, Veritas, Vita motto in his family life and military service. The Silliman experience and the fundamental values of a Christian education have kept him spiritually grounded, especially in making an impact in the military. While SUAAMMCI president, Ms. Connie Campoy-Mamaril, indicated the chapter’s interest in helping re-open the Silliman Manila Office, she also expressed her gratitude for the big turnout of Manila-based alumni.

A video message from the Silliman Alumni Association, Inc. (SAAI) president Mr. Adlai J. Amor asserted SAAI’s commitment to transparency and accountability. He announced two major projects being pursued by SAAI. These projects include a new alumni hall building and an Outstanding Sillimanian Awards (OSA) wall where the names of all awardees will be highlighted. Representing Silliman University (SU) during the alumni gathering was Ruben N. Bokingo, Alumni and External Affairs director, who shared alumni updates from the campus.

Also present during the alumni gathering were Outstanding Sillimanian Awardees (OSA) Dr. Alicia B. Dumlao, Dr. Salvador Benjamin D. Vista, Atty. Ma. Rowena Amelia V. Guanzon, Ms. Roselyn G. Delloso, Dr. Genevieve V. Ledesma–Laurel, Mr. Crescencio S. Bendijo, Hon. Jenny Lind R. Aldecoa-Delorino, Dr. Glenda S. Arquiza, Lt. Gen. Fernyl G. Buca, and Dr. Gloria A. De Guzman. Representing the SU Board were Trustees Dr. Epifania D. Anfone and Dr. Marl V. Ferenal.

SUAAMMCI vice president Vice Admiral Edmund C Tan PCG (Ret) led a group of Sillimanians from the military service. Present at the alumni event were Brig. Gen. Lincoln Francisco T. Tagle PA (Ret), Lt. Gen. Pedrito S. Cadungog PAF (Ret), PB. Gen. Prospero C. Noble, Jr. PNP (Ret), PLt. Jose Chiquito M. Malayo PNP (Ret), and LT. Hermie G. Colina PN (Ret).

The Philippine Air Force Band provided the live music for the evening.
