SUAANYNJ honors Dr. Horace B. Silliman

Alumni Update December 9 – 15, 2024

The members of the Silliman University Alumni Association of New York New Jersey (SUAANYNJ), led by chapter president, Juliesette Divinagracia Hatulan, offered flowers at the graveside of Dr. Horace Brinsmade Silliman last December 3, 2024, at the Albany Rural Cemetery in New York, on his 199th birth anniversary. They also visited the Horace B. Silliman Memorial Park, located directly across from Cohoes City Hall in New York.

This alumni chapter activity coincided with Silliman University’s launch of a year-long celebration marking the bicentennial of Dr. Horace B. Silliman’s birth. The university has organized numerous events involving students and alumni to honor Dr. Silliman’s life of selflessness, showcasing the enduring legacy of his generosity and visionary spirit.

SUAANYNJ chapter members also paid tribute by offering flowers and lighted candles at the Horace B. Silliman Memorial Park, by the signage writeup highlighting his generous spirit.
