SUACONA funds environmental, sustainability research
The Silliman University Alumni and Council of North America (SUACONA) set up a fund to support graduate students, faculty, staff, and research affiliates at SU who are pursuing studies and research on environmental conservation and sustainability.
Through the SUACONA Environmental Funds Scholarships and Grants, researchers can receive funding through scholarships, research grants, and travel grants.
Scholarships will cover tuition fees and thesis/dissertation expenses of graduate students pursuing studies on environmental conservation and sustainability. Depending on performance and funds available, scholarships can be renewable.
Research grants will be available for SU faculty, staff, and graduate students, but they can also be given to research affiliates (non-students, non-faculty/staff) who are recognized by the University academic unit as such and have an ultimate goal of publishing their results with co-authorship shared with an academic unit. The application for research grants is open all year round.
As for travel grants, these will cover travel within the Philippines and will include transportation and/or lodging. This is open to SU graduate students, faculty, and staff who will present an oral or poster presentation at a conference or seminar on environmental conservation and sustainability areas. Applications are open year-round and will depend on the availability of funds.
For application requirements and conditions of the scholarships, interested individuals can email the SU Scholarships and Aid Division at [email protected] or call (035) 422 6002 local 328. The deadline for applications for the scholarship is on January 31, 2023.
