SUHS Class of 1960 sets up scholarship fund

The Silliman University High School (SUHS) Graduating Class of 1960 signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with SU to set up a scholarship fund for Junior High School students, October 17, 2022.

The alumni batch was represented by Ernesto “Buddy” Ravello, as the signatory for the class; Daisy Flores Kirit, and Marilyn A. Elnar as witnesses during the MOA signing at the Office of the SU Vice President for Development, Enterprise, and External Affairs Jane Annette L. Belarmino.

Through the SUHS CLASS OF 1960 Scholarship Fund, the alumni batch aims to support and maintain a scholarship grant for underprivileged but academically deserving students.

The scholarship will cover full or partial tuition, board and lodging, and textbooks expenses depending on the available funds.

The SU Scholarship Committee and the Scholarship and Student Aid Division (SSAD) shall manage and implement the scholarship in accordance with the guidelines of the University and the MOA.

The minimum qualifications for the scholarship include being a Filipino citizen officially enrolled at SU Junior High School; considered financially underprivileged because of a gross annual family income from all sources that is not more than Php 350,000; or because the applicant, after the evaluation by the SSAD Selection Committee, cannot support their education in the University even with a gross family income of more than Php 350,0000.

Recipients of other scholarships or subsidies offered by the University may apply for the scholarship.
