SUSG enviro chair joins nat’l push for intergenerational climate action

Alyssa Danielle Pangan, chairperson of the Silliman University Student Government (SUSG) Environment Committee, represented SU at the SEAL the Future: National Convening on Climate Change and Intergenerational Justice, joining selected youth delegates from across the country at the two-day event held on November 7–8, 2025 in Malate, Metro Manila.
Organized by RebootPH, the convening brought together youth participants from across the country, along with representatives from educational institutions, civil society groups, development partners, and government agencies.
Hosted at De La Salle University Manila on Day 1 and Orchid Garden Suites on Day 2, the event provided a national platform to define intergenerational justice within the Philippine climate context and strengthen youth participation in climate action.
Pangan’s selection recognized her ability to contribute to national discussions on climate justice and education for sustainable development.

The convening highlighted the long-term consequences of today’s climate decisions and underscored the need for climate-ready education and collaborative local action.
Supported by Brot für die Welt and co-funded by the European Union, the event is part of the long-term Skills in Environment and Energy Advocacy and Leadership (SEAL) initiative under the A-SASSY Project.
Activities included the launch of a national discussion paper on intergenerational justice, a panel on sustainable university practices, and a gallery walk showcasing youth-led initiatives, with the second day centering on practical action and featuring capacity-building sessions on climate education, leadership, and advocacy.
Delegates developed local plans for youth-driven climate projects, concluding with presentations that outlined actionable next steps for advancing just and sustainable climate solutions.
