SUSHS faculty receives nat’l research grant for school improvement
Silliman University Senior High School faculty member Asst. Prof. Joshua S. Soldivillo has been awarded a research grant under the Research for School Improvement Towards Excellence (RSITE) Program of the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) for School Year 2025–2026.
The RSITE Program supports private school administrators and teachers who are completing their master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation focused on school improvement. It is administered by the PEAC National Secretariat through its Communications and Research Unit, with projects implemented in each grantee’s home institution.
Soldivillo’s selection as one of the nationwide grantees followed a competitive process that concluded with the call for applications on June 16, 2025. Grant recipients, including Soldivillo, were confirmed in August 2025 and will implement their research projects over the next 12 months. Each dissertation grantee is eligible to receive up to ₱80,000 in funding support.
Expressing his gratitude, Soldivillo emphasized that the award affirms the value of research in strengthening educational practice: “The grant supports graduate-level research that addresses pressing needs in private education, promoting evidence-based innovations in leadership, teaching, and learning.”
Aside from the PEAC grant, Soldivillo also received ₱50,000 research funding from Silliman University’s Faculty Development Committee to further support his dissertation. His study aims to address crucial needs in private education, with expected findings to benefit not only Silliman University but also the broader private school community.
The results of his research will be disseminated through PEAC platforms and academic conferences, contributing to ongoing efforts to enhance leadership, teaching, and learning in private schools across the country.
