TEVEC produces 50 graduates in Animal Production Swine and Poultry-Chicken NC II

The Silliman University Technical, Educational, Vocational, and Entrepreneurial Center (SU-TEVEC) produced 50 graduates of Animal Production (Swine) NC II and Animal Production (Poultry-Chicken) NC II during the 43rd SU-TEVEC Graduation Ceremony on October 20, 2025, at the Audio-Visual Theatre.
Ledie Mariz B. Tan, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) PDO III – Regional Program Coordinator, Walang Gutom Program (WPG), thanked the primary stakeholders, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and SU TEVEC, for the forged partnership.
“This partnership has helped define this glorious new chapter for our graduates through the compliance of productivity enhancement sessions (part of DSWD’s objectives to assist its program beneficiaries),” she explained.
Tan also congratulated the graduates, particularly DSWD’s WPG beneficiaries. She emphasized that the certificate they gained is a professional license, which proves to the community that they are skilled, competent, and ready to produce.
“You are no longer just beneficiaries of support but kamo na ang mahimong solusyon (you will now be the solution) … You have taken the first step towards self-sufficiency and transformed it into a leap towards national contribution. That transformation—from being served to being the servant leader of food production—is an achievement that deserves deep respect,” she reminded the graduates.
This partnership between DSWD, TESDA, and TEVEC allowed DSWD beneficiaries to sign up for a vocational program and earn a national certificate. The twenty-five (25) graduates of Animal Production (Swine) were all DSWD’s WGP beneficiaries, including:

Princess G. Ebrole, who spoke on behalf of her fellow graduates in Animal Production (Poultry-Chicken) NC II, reflected on the importance of poultry farming and its benefits to the communities, particularly to them, the graduates.
“Farming holds promise for food security, rural development, and economic development. Poultry farming is more than just raising chickens. In the course that we just had, we were made to understand how poultry farming is an accessible and profitable agricultural venture. This is quite remarkable, especially for the majority of us here, the trainees, who are small-scale farmers,” she said.
“In every egg lies potential, and in every chicken, a promise of food security, income, and sustainability. Poultry farming isn’t just about raising birds. It’s about raising our communities, building resilience, and feeding the future,” Ebrole added.
Other guests representing government partners included Jessila Ocariza, Provincial Training Center Administrator – PTC Dumaguete; Jeanmay E. Maglangit Acting Division Chief, Philippine Coconut Authority; Chandi May Laguros, DSWD Compliance Verification Officer Field Office, RO VII; and Ira Niña I. Pacquiao-PDO II-CEC/WGP.
