The Facilities Management and Administrative Services Chief at Silliman University will provide strategic leadership to ensure the efficient and sustainable operation of the university’s physical infrastructure and administrative services. The role is integral to advancing the institution’s vision of total human development, grounded in Christian values, and contributing to the well-being of society and the environment.
Qualifications
1. Advanced degree in fields related to facilities management, business administration, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in facilities management, preferably in an educational or institutional
setting.
3. Strong commitment to Christian values and the mission of the institution.
4. Knowledge of sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Facilities Management
a. Oversee the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of all university facilities, ensuring a safe, secure, and conducive environment for learning, work, and community life.
b. Implement sustainable practices in facility operations and maintenance, aligning with the
institution's commitment to environmental well-being.
2. Administrative Services
c. Provide leadership in administrative services including transportation, security, housing, and other support functions.
d. Ensure efficient and responsive administrative support to various departments and the university community.
3. Environmental Stewardship
e. Integrate principles of environmental sustainability into facilities management practices, promoting energy efficiency, waste reduction, and eco-friendly initiatives.
f. Collaborate with relevant departments to implement and enhance the university’s environmental sustainability programs.
4. Safety and Security
g. Develop and implement safety and security protocols for the entire university campus.
h. Foster a culture of safety and emergency preparedness among staff and students.
5. Space Planning and Utilization
i. Optimize the use of physical space on campus to support academic, administrative, and community needs.
j. Collaborate with academic departments to plan and allocate spaces in alignment with the university’s mission.
7. Collaboration and Communication
k. Collaborate with academic and administrative leaders to understand their needs and align facilities and services accordingly.
l. Communicate effectively with university stakeholders, providing updates on facilities projects, safety measures, and other relevant information.
8. Budget and Resource Management
m. Develop and manage budgets for facilities management and administrative services.
n. Identify cost-effective solutions and strategies for optimizing resource utilization.
