The Silliman University Writers Workshop is back for its 63rd year

The Silliman University Writers Workshop (SUNWW) returns for its 63rd year, continuing its legacy as the longest-running writing workshop in the Philippines and Asia. From June 9 to 20, 2025, emerging writers from across the country will gather in Dumaguete for a transformative writing experience.

This year’s workshop brings together a distinguished lineup of mentors who represent diverse literary genres and disciplines. The esteemed panelists include: Dinah T. Roma, Jose Wendell P. Capili, Ian Rosales Casocot, Susan S. Lara, Ino Manalo, Grace Monte de Ramos, and Marjorie M. Evasco. The workshop is also headed by the Director-in-Residence D.M. Reyes.

The workshop will feature several events that highlight its ongoing legacy and commitment to literature. The following are events open to everyone:

In these two weeks, fellows will work closely and engage in workshop and mentoring sessions, allowing them to refine their work and learn from a community of established and emerging writers. The Silliman University Writers Workshop continues its commitment to hold space for the development of Filipino writers.
