Dissertation Grant Established in Honor for Late Nursing Dean

A dissertation grant in the amount of P100,000 was established at the College of Nursing in honor of the late Dr. Maria Teresita Sy-Sinda.

Dr. Sinda was Dean of the College for two periods: 1986 to 1994 and 2001 to 2009.

The dissertation grant, which was established by Mr. Luis M. Sy, the brother of Dr. Sinda, is available at one time to two faculty members from the College who are currently pursuing their doctorate degrees. Each recipient is entitled to P50,000. The fund is replenished as each recipient completes his or her dissertation.

Named the “Dr. Maria Teresita Montebon Sy-Sinda Excellence in Nursing Leadership Grant”, the program honors the legacy of Dr. Sinda in highlighting the value of continuing education and graduate studies in achieving professional development and competitive academic standing for the College.
