Honorary Consul General Expresses Support for Silliman’s Reach in Ho Chi Minh

The Honorary Consul General in Ho Chi Minh welcomed the efforts of Silliman University to expand its international student recruitment efforts and linkages in Vietnam.

Atty. Li Thi Phung, who is a prominent and well-respected business figure in Ho Chi Minh, said the University’s visit to Ho Chi Minh further bolsters the interest of the Philippines to promote Philippine higher education and culture in the ASEAN region.

On top of linkages with reputable universities in Ho Chi Minh, the Honorary Consul General also reinforced the role of Philippine universities, especially Silliman, in developing a professional English program for Vietnamese.

Silliman, through Mr. Mark Raygan E. Garcia, Director of the Office of Information and Publications, paid a courtesy call on the Honorary Consul General at the Consulate in Ho Chi Minh on August 11.

On the same visit to Ho Chi Minh, apart from visits to public and private high schools, the University explored linkages with four of Vietnam’s top universities: University of Economics, University of Social Sciences, University of Technology and Hoa Sen University.
