8 Pupils Compete in Int’l Math Competitions in HK, Singapore

Eight students from the School of Basic Education are set to leave for Hong Kong and Singapore as part of the Philippine delegation to four different international math competitions.

High School Department's Azel Amada (third year) and Micah Edem (first year) competes in three competitions in Hong Kong on July 24 to 28: Search for Math Wizards, Environmental Math Contest and Asian Math Cup.

Their counterparts from the Elementary Department in the same competitions are third graders Peter Martin Nasvik, Jev Ulric Torres and Carlos Miguel Angelo Salazar. 

Another group from the Elementary Department leaves for Singapore for the International Mathematics Competition on August 2 to 5: fourth grader Ashley Simone Teves and fifth graders Francis Roy Albina and Luis Enrique P. Reyes.

All eight passed the qualifying exams and a series of training conducted by the Mathematics Trainers' Guild.
