Nursing Faculty Leads Basic Life Support Training at Jail Facility

A faculty of the College of Nursing faculty headed a group from the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA)-Negros Oriental Chapter in an outreach program that benefited the residents of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Bajumpandan on April 14.

Dr. Theorose June Bustillo led the group, composed of PNA officers and nurse-volunteers, in administering the a training on Basic Life Support and Basic First Aid. It was aimed at teaching the BJMP residents how to respond to medical emergencies.

Silliman and other organizations have been conducting regular outreach programs at the BJMP that reinforce local efforts to address the health and social needs of its residents.
