Subject: Silliman Studying Implications of Changing Academic Calendar

Silliman University is undergoing a study to determine the implications of changing the academic calendar. Part of this study is a survey that is currently being administered online among Silliman students, faculty and staff to get their opinion on the matter.

The University would like to make it clear that it has not decided yet on the change of academic calendar. School Year 2014-2015 still begins in June and ends in May.

Changing the academic calendar takes into consideration several factors. These include implications on budget, preparation time and course content, and the academic schedule of the schools from where majority of our students come. All of these will be given weight to determine what is best for the University. ###
