Silliman Produces New CPAs
Four members of Class 2011 are among the country's newest certified public accountants (CPA) after passing the May 2011 CPA licensure examination.
The Professional Regulation Commission has released the list of new CPAs, including the following from Silliman University:
- Fortin, Rachel Ann S.
- Giducos, Marigold B.
- Pacaña, Carl Vel D.
- Piñero, Rea Lee P.
Silliman registered a passing average of 80 per cent against the national passing rate of 41 per cent.
The University continues to be a Center of Development (CoD) in Accountancy Education in the Philippines as designated by the Commission on Higher Education. This distinction is granted to institutions which have demonstrated highest degree of standards in the areas of instruction, research and extension. (Silliman is also a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education and Teacher Education and a CoD in Biology and Information Technology Education.)
