Silliman Among Top 20 Universities in PH —Webometrics

Silliman has landed on the list of the Top 20 universities in the Philippines, based on the latest Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.

The University ranked 13th in the Webometrics list, based on data collected last June 2016. 

Webometrics ranks universities around the world based on their Open Access initiatives, electronic access to scientific publications and to other academic material. It is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain. CSIC is among the first basic research organizations in Europe and aims to promote scientific research.

Meanwhile, Dean of Graduate Programs Dr. Enrique Oracion was also included in Webometrics’ list of high-ranking scientists in the Philippines, according to their Google Scholar Citations public profiles. He joins other reputable academicians in the country, who are mostly from the University of the Philippines.

Silliman is known as a leading Christian institution in the Philippines. Last June, Silliman was ranked the sixth top university in the country by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), and listed among the top 300 universities in Asia.
