Forum Asks: ‘Why People of Faith Care About the Env’t?’
Why should people of faith care about the environment?
This question sets the tone for the forum dubbed “Faith + Environment” that the Justice and Peace Center is holding on April 28 at the Instructional Media and Technology Center.
The forum tackles the same question in their theme “Why People of Faith Should Care About the Environment” and takes inspiration from two scriptures: Psalm 24:1 (“All of creations belong to God, not to human beings”) and Genesis 1:28-29 (“We are part of the created order and our first calling by God is to be stewards of the Earth and the rest of the creation.”)
Guest speakers are Canadian social and environmental justice activist Mr. David Dranchuck on “Earth Care: Environmental and Spiritual Crisis” and Friends of the Environment of Negros Oriental president Mr. Leo Mamicpic on “Biodiversity: Overview and Threats.”
