SU Secretaries Undergo Client Relations, Marketing Training
Around 60 secretaries and office assistants of Silliman University underwent a five-module workshop on marketing and client relations on May 3 and 4 at the Uytengsu Foundation Computer Studies Hall.
A project of the Staff Development Committee and the Human Resource Development office, the workshop sought to empower the University’s support staff and provide them with a larger picture of their critical role in the promotion of Silliman’s institutional reputation.
The bulk of the workshop tackled concepts, trends and techniques in marketing, branding and service delivery. It allowed participants to see themselves from the perspective of management and their internal and external clients, in enhancing approaches to helping run the operations of their respective offices.
Divided into two batches, the participants went through five modules that examined the changing behavior of clients, common office scenarios, individual competencies and attitudes, and teamwork – achieving collective goals, among others.
Handling the workshop was resource person and facilitator Mr. Ramon Sun, a Silliman alumnus. A retired marketing specialist, Mr. Sun graduated from the University in 1975 with a degree in business administration. He has worked for multinational companies as both consultant and executive in the areas of marketing, merchandising and promotions.
