IEMS Director, Curator at Int'l Confab on Coastal Protection

Two administrative staff of the Institute of Environmental and Marine Sciences (IEMS) were invited as speakers during the coastal protection and conservation seminar held July 30 to 31 at the Hong Kong Baptist University. 

IEMS Director Dr. Hilconida P. Calumpong and curator Ms Clarissa T. Reboton presented to fellow scientists in Hong Kong results of researches undertaken separately in the Philippines, upon the invitation of the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia. 

Dr. Calumpong spoke on “Mangrove Rehabilitation for Coastal Protection: The Case of Ticao I”, while Ms. Reboton on “Assessing Coral Health: Impacts on Eco-Tourism, Ship Grounding and Climate Change in Central Philippines”.
