Mr. Jun Diputado

Mr. Jun Diputado

ImageHe once said that in one’s life, there’s bound to be one thing from his childhood that his elders remember vividly. To him, it is his pursuit of a good life.

Mr. Jun Diputado was born on September 29, 1957 in Tubtubon, Sibulan. He describes his childhood as fun and memorable. It was his inclination and passion for success that prompted his parents to enroll him in school. With limited chances for him to explore his talent in what was during his time a quiet and small town of Sibulan, he decided to pursue college in Dumaguete.

Straight from his graduation in college, Jun joined Silliman University as a composer at the then Silliman Press (now Printing and Publishing Unit). He served the Press for 22 years, before being transferred to the Office of the Registrar and Admissions where he is currently a computer encoder.

“Being part of a prestigious institution gives me that needed boost to test for myself on a much greater level whether I have it in me or not to become one of the best employees of this University,” he shares.

While without kids, Jun enjoys a happy married life with wife Lisbeth. In everything that he does, he reminds himself that life is precious and that it should be spent with the people who matter to you. He strongly feels about making the most of every opportunity that comes his way especially after he almost died when a vehicle hit him as he was driving his motorcycle.

“Life is indeed short and should be considered significantly,” Jun advises.

Let’s get to know Jun more.

(NOTE: “Colleague of the Week'” serves as a window into the life of the faculty and staff members of Silliman University. It seeks to showcase colleagues from different departments and units, and present them as “the” faces that form part of the foundation of Silliman. Featured weekly are faculty and staff who have committed themselves to providing members of the Silliman community a campus experience that cultivates competence, character and faith within one and all. We get to know them as people who like any of us also have their fair share of challenges, successes, and an inspiring story to tell. Not all of them may be popular, but not a single one of them lives a life without hope and meaning to share.)
