Darkness Wraps Historic Hall on Earth Hour
Earth Hour 2011 in Dumaguete City can be gleaned from the darkness that wraps for an hour the historic Silliman Hall at the strike of 8:30PM on March 26. Silliman University had a total blackout in observance of Earth Hour, switching off lampposts and lights in all of its buildings and residential units. Considered as the country's oldest standing American structure representative of “stick-style” architecture, the Silliman Hall serves as a landmark that never fails to welcome tourists arriving at the Dumaguete pier. At night, energy-efficient lighting brightens up its facade. (Read background story: http://beta.su.edu.ph/article/90-Website-Joins-Countdown-to-Earth-Hour)
