SU Men’s Glee Club honored at 6th Negros Young Heroes Awards
The Silliman University Men’s Glee Club (SUMGC) of the College of Performing and Visual Arts (COPVA) Music Department was recognized at the 6th Negros Young Heroes: Gawad Parangal Para sa Kabataan for its contributions to the community through music and service.
The group received the recognition under the Samahang Category during the awarding ceremony held July 25, 2026, at the Sofia Soler Sinco Hall of Foundation University in Dumaguete City.
Organized by Gaba-an Youth Lead (GYL), the Negros Young Heroes awards recognize youth leaders and organizations whose dedication, leadership, and initiatives have made a meaningful impact on communities across the Negros Island Region.
SUMGC was cited for its dedication, meaningful contributions, and commitment to community service, reflecting the values of leadership, excellence, and service promoted by the awards.
Under the direction of Asst. Prof. Nathaniel R. Bicoy, the SUMGC is composed of Rodwil Gerard M. Estrellanes, Mark Laurence B. De Leon, Ram Matthew D. Villanueva, Jose James Jerry P. Bustillo, Isaiah Xam Ursos, Liam Vladimir B. Eraham, Jether Dave P. Begafria, Jerald S. Dalangon, Michael Bryan E. Nuque, Ezekiel G. Acedo, Arse Angelo P. Maga, Tyrone C. Encarnacion, Sean Gabriel B. Divinagracia, Seiji Kyle D. Barba, Augustine Immanuel L. Cantila, Kernel B. Andolero, Aldwin S. Tuayon, John Imre C. Lasmarias, Eugene Anthony M. Aranjuez, Jon David R. Tabada, Karl Joshua V. Berenguel, and Martin Louis A. Sese.
The formal recognition ceremony gathered youth delegates and organizations from across the region and featured the presentation of awards in various categories, along with cultural and musical performances. Attendees came in Filipiniana and Barong Tagalog attire.
