DepEd Secretary Briones to Speak on Education Reforms at University Event
Department of Education Secretary Prof. Leonor M. Briones will deliver a lecture on the country’s education reforms and other issues related to the state of the basic education system in the Philippines, on January 15, 10AM at the Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium.
Secretary Briones speaks on campus under the Eminent Persons Lecture program which annually invites to Silliman distinguished national and international personalities to share their insights on relevant issues to national life.
A renowned professor emeritus at the National College of Public Administration at the University of the Philippines and an internationally recognized advocate for social development, the Secretary served the Board of Trustees of Silliman University as Chairperson before her appointment to the Cabinet of Philippine President Rodrigo R. Duterte. She is an Outstanding Sillimanian in the field of Fiscal and Public Administration who obtained from the University her degree in Accounting magna cum laude.
