About
The 2019 ACUCA Management Conference aims to empower, equip, and inspire Christian leaders to navigate in the current tide of social and political realities in the region. Transformational leadership is the approach used in this gathering with a realization of what is emerging as well as critical and a consciousness of what is global and holistic.
The 3 day-programme is designed to create a deeper awareness of one’s leadership impact, support leaders refine their personal leadership styles, strengthen their emotional intelligence and ability to connect and acquire the skills that will enable them to bring out the best in others.
Throughout the duration of the program, participants gain perspectives on how they are perceived as a leader while they connect with peers and identify areas of growth.
Ultimately, the ACUCA brand of leadership is defined by excellence, competence, and a spirit of service.
The evolution of leadership has been affected by disruptive technologies which offer new ways for us not only to consume but also create. We can be proactive and tailor content, however, myriad technologies and services make us more dependent on the very things allowing autonomy. As leaders how do you effectively navigate and curate the vast information available? How do we encourage innovation while underlining Christian values? How do we encourage positive engagement while building the skills and attitudes necessary to thrive in the ethos of the modern world?
Over the years, the Association for Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia has brought together Christian leaders educators from around ideas critical to the development of Christian education in Asia and beyond.
Complex issues in our contemporary world deserve a voice from Christian leaders in the East. Lamin Sanneh in his volume Disciples of All Nations: Pillars of World Christianity has aptly stated, “Christianity is the most diverse religion in the world. More people pray and worship in more languages and with more differences in styles of worship in Christianity than in any other religion.
Well over three thousand of the world’s languages are represented through Bible translation, prayer, liturgy, hymns and literature.”
In consonance with the principles during the inception of ACUCA, this year ‘s management conference strives to provide practical wisdom, useful leadership insights and biblically-based solutions to common problems areas as well as to encourage leaders to do more, be more and do better.
The Program
There is a need for leaders equipped with biblically-based ethical principles and practices which emphasize character, courage and wisdom. The program flow is geared towards supporting the enhancement of skills while also showcasing the expertise or specific competencies of ACUCA leaders.
