Alumni Update July 3 – 9, 2023
The Silliman Alumni Association, Inc. (SAAI) Cagayan de Oro Chapter held their first face-to-face alumni gathering, “TAPOK TA!” last July 1, 2023 at the residence of Patrick Jeremy U. Sylee in Cagayan de Oro City.
Present during the get-together were two members of the Silliman University (SU) Board of Trustees, both pillars of the Cagayan de Oro Chapter, namely: Trustee and Outstanding Sillimanian Awardee (OSA), Emmanuel D. Abellanosa and Trustee Nenen T. Rodriguez. Also present were OSA Jeff Willkom Acebedo and OSA Patricia Velez-Gaid.
The Cagayan de Oro alumni chapter event had Moses Joshua B. Atega, SU International Students adviser, as emcee. Prizes were given to those who answered the Silliman trivia questions correctly. SAAI President Yasmin M. Alih and SU Alumni and External Affairs Director Ruben N. Bokingo gave their alumni updates on the upcoming alumni activities for the 122 nd SU Founders Day.
The newly elected officers of SAAI Cagayan de Oro Chapter are the following: Helen Grace P. Uy – president; Percy P. Guarin – vice president; Imma Rae D. Gatuslao – secretary; April Twinkle A. Coral – treasurer; Pemmy M. Calumpang – auditor; and Vivian S. Vestil – PRO. The members of the board are Lealyn A. Ramos, Judge Jeff Willkom Acebido, Frank Molas, Roy Dino R. Tenaja, and Patrick Jeremy U. Sylee; while the chapter advisers are Engr. Emmanuel D. Abellanosa, Dr. Patricia Velez-Gaid, and Edwin M. Alo.
