Alumni Update May 29 – June 4, 2023
SU explores possible partnerships with St. Luke’s Medical Center and ING Business for alumni opportunities
Prof. Jane Annette L. Belarmino, Silliman University (SU) vice president for Development, Enterprise and External Affairs; Dr. Teresa A. Guino-o, SU College of Nursing dean; and Ruben N. Bokingo, SU Alumni and External Affairs director, met with Kristine Maypriel V. Manansala of the St. Luke’s Medical Center HR Talent Acquisition Department last May 23, 2023 to explore possible linkages with SU.
Discussions covered the areas of scholarship, special student training, lectures, and student and faculty visitations.
Guino-o expressed willingness to finetune a working agreement beneficial to both St. Luke’s Medical Center and SU.
In another meeting, Carol Marrero, People Services & HR Governance head at ING Business Shared Services, also met with Belarmino, Bokingo, and Prof. Joy M. Dy, SU College of Computer Studies dean, for possible linkages.
ING Business Shared Services (IBSS) provides global support services for ING Bank in areas such as financial markets, lending services, client due diligence/onboarding activities, risk management, retail operations, and IT; hence their interest in SU’s College of Computer Studies and College of Business Administration graduates.
ING expressed partnership interests in the areas of graduate trainee programs, special training for KYC certification, job fairs, student internships, company talks and industry updates, class field trips, faculty immersion programs, company visits, and special training.
Both St. Luke’s Medical Center and ING Business Shared Services participated in the Silliman University 2023 Job Fair held last May 22-23, 2023.
