Alumni Update May 6 – 12, 2024

SUAA New York-New Jersey Alumni Chapter elects new officers

Trustee Evangeline Bravo-Manjares administers the oath taking of the newly elected SUAANYNJ Chapter Officers.

The Silliman University Alumni Association New York-New Jersey (SUAANYNJ) Chapter recently held their general meeting and induction of chapter officers last April 4, 2024 at the New York LaGuardia Airport Marriot Hotel.

Silliman University (SU) Trustee Dr. Evangeline Bravo-Manjares administered the oath for the newly elected officers and Board of Directors.

The newly elected officers are the following: Juliesette Divinagracia Hatulan – president; Joseph Calderon – president elect; Modesta Gamo-Dumalag – vice president (NJ); Eppielyn E. Villegas – vice president (NY); Nicole Remollo – secretary; Melgreene Mamhot – assistant secretary; Blossom Saga-Gonzales – treasurer; Maria Victoria Solon – assistant treasurer; Emma Gornez – auditor; Lani Paw – assistant auditor; Precy Remollo Cuyos – PRO; and Florence Baesa – assistant PRO. The Board of Directors includes Moses Alcala, Doreen Scott, Noeta Silva, Edelisa Bravo-Gaviola, Elizabeth Lasmarias-Santos, Cecile Duyungco, Miguel Braganza, Nenita Caballes-Lodh, Sevelita Cortes-Orendain, Fe Dompor, and Suzalin Llena.

The SUAANYNJ chapter has always been responsive to the different needs and advocacies of Silliman — from scholarships to supporting the University’s Calamity and Response Program.

The chapter has been supporting the SU Student-Alumni Scholarship Matching Program of the Alumni and External Affairs Office since 2015. This is a scholarship fund for working students.
