Alumni Updates (March 20 – 26, 2017)
Breathe: A One-Woman Art Exhibition by alumna Leila D. Marapao-Brian will be displayed at the Museo Ng Sining on April 6-29, 2017.
Opening night guest of honor is Atty. Winston F. Garcia, former GSIS President and General Manager.
Ling, as she is fondly called, is a new artist and a breast cancer survivor. She attests that painting has helped her heal.
“Should my paintings be sold before, during and after the exhibit, the money will be used as seed funding for the book I long to write. The net sales of the books will all go towards assisting breast cancer indigent patients in the hospital here in Metro Manila where I received my treatment”.
Ling was a former Executive Vice President – Corporate Support at Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) and earned her Bachelor of Mass Communication degree at Silliman in 1981 cum laude.
Silliman’s Student Assistants (SA) assigned to different academic and non-academic units in the University are qualified to apply as recipients to the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES).
