Biology Department hosts lecturers from Biodiversity Research Center Academia Sinica, Taiwan

The Silliman University (SU) Biology Department welcomed guest lecturers from the Biodiversity Research Center Academia Sinica in Taiwan who talked about “Fundamentals and Emerging Concepts on Plant Biodiversity,” March 28, 2023 at the James W. Chapman Science Complex.

The lecturers were Danilo N. Tandang, a PhD candidate of the Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP) – Biodiversity and a senior museum researcher at the National Museum of the Philippines, who talked on “Spot Characters on Plant Identification”; Mark Angelo C. Bucay, TIGP-Biodiversity PhD student, on “Introduction to Philippine Biogeography”; and Dr. Hao-Chun Hsu, post-doctoral fellow at Academia Sinica, on “Fundamentals of Image Data Analysis.”

The lectures were attended by Biology students, faculty, and staff.
