CCP, DepEd, SU Tie Up on Nat’l Arts Workshop for 350 Senior High Teachers
Around 350 public and private school music and art teachers from different senior high schools in the country are in Silliman University for the National Arts and Design Training Workshop of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), taking place April 23 to 27.
CCP, through its Arts Education Department, linked up anew with Silliman University, through its Culture and Arts Council, in running this year’s summer workshop for teachers who administer the different curricula in Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health (MAPEH), the Special Program in the Arts, and the Arts and Design Track.
Done in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), the workshop is designed to provide senior high school teachers with an extensive and comprehensive training on their respective art forms, putting emphasis on advancing the level of art literacy, techniques, processes, and art making geared towards the attainment of artistic excellence. It offers specialized training in Folk Dance Staging, Ballet, Musical Arranging for Rondalla, Advanced Acting, Technical Theater, and Printmaking Techniques, among others.
Last year, Silliman hosted a similar Kaisa sa Sining Summer Arts Workshop for teachers in elementary, junior high school and senior high school in the region.
