Convocation Draws 400 Church Workers from Around Phils

Silliman University, through the Divinity School, hosted the annual Church Workers Convocation end of August.

This year’s theme “Liturgy, Technology and Mission” is “very relevant as Silliman University pursues its tri-logical mission of teaching, preaching, and healing,” said Vice President for Development Jane L. Belarmino during her welcome remarks.

The three-day event was attended by close to 400 church workers of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines from around the country. It was filled with lectures and workshops that expounded on the role of technology in today’s liturgy and mission.

It culminated with the recognition of this year’s recipients of the Diakonia Award: Rev. Rodolfo A. Baslot and Rev. Francisco T. Ugsad. Both pastors have made significant contributions in upholding human rights and are actively working for social justice.
