Dean of Students Joins Study Visit, Benchmarking in Seoul

Dean of Students Dr. Edna Gladys T. Calingacion joined fellow members of the board of the Philippine Association of Administrators of Student Affairs, Inc. (PAASA) on a study visit and benchmarking in Seoul, South Korea from October 21 to 26.

Dr. Calingacion is concurrently auditor of PAASA, a professional organization of student affairs administrators and practitioners committed to the formation of the Filipino educators through the conduct of effective and relevant programs and services addressing student issues and student affairs development.

Together with other board members, she visited four higher education institutions (HEIs) in Seoul and were oriented on their respective best practices in student affairs and services. These HEIs were Sogang University, Far East University, Daegu Catholic University and Daegu Health College. The study visit also further exposed them to Korean culture and way of life. This enables PAASA to better develop programs and policies that address concerns of international students, especially those from Asia.

Outputs from the study visit and benchmarking will be presented during the PAASA national convention in May 2018.
