Dr. Marl V. Ferenal is Silliman University's 4th Midyear Commencement Exercises speaker

Dr. Marl V. Ferenal is a seasoned professional with a diverse academic background and extensive leadership experience in healthcare and education. He holds a PhD in Organization Development from the Southeast Asia Inter-Disciplinary Institute, complemented by a Master’s in International Hospitality Management from the Lyceum of the Philippines University, a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Perpetual Help System, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Silliman University.

Currently serving as a Strategic Management Consultant at Las Piñas Doctors Hospital, Dr. Ferenal brings a wealth of strategic insight and operational expertise to his role. His career spans several high-profile positions, including President of both the Las Piñas Doctors Hospital and Southville International School and Colleges. He has also held pivotal roles as Chief Operating Officer at Westlake Medical Center and Healthserv Los Baños Medical Center, as well as starting out as a Network Engineer at the Philippine Long Distance Telecommunications Company.

Dr. Ferenal is not only distinguished in his professional roles but also in his contributions to quality management and talent development in the Philippines. He has served as an Assessor for the Philippine Quality Award and represented the country at the Asia Productivity Organization Conference. His expertise in quality management is further underscored by his role as the Quality Management Representative for ISO 9001. Additionally, he has held leadership positions such as Tipanan Chair at the Philippine Society for Talent Development and President of the Capital Market Institute of the Philippines.

Dr. Ferenal is also a co-author of several influential books on institutional productivity, weekly planning systems, and human resource management, reflecting his leadership in these areas. He is also a singer and songwriter.

Currently, Dr. Ferenal serves as a member of the Silliman University Board of Trustees.
