Japanese University Inks MoA with Silliman on English Program
Shikoku Gakuin University (SGU) in Japan entered a new memorandum of agreement with Silliman University on Japanese students’ enrollment in the Intensive English Program (IntEP).
Under this agreement, SGU will annually send a batch of 15 students to undergo IntEP within the period of August and September, which coincides with SGU’s summer break.
IntEP is a three-week program for foreign students with non-English-medium background. It is directed at increasing students’ proficiency in the English language. Students are also assigned to Filipino buddies, who are Silliman students, to sharpen their conversational English.
Handled by the Language Center, IntEP has been receiving students from other universities in Japan and Korea.
SGU is one of Silliman’s long-standing partners in Japan for its student exchange program, along with the International Christian University and Ferries University.
